  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce

  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry the beef short ribs.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, chili paste, and black pepper.
  3. Marinate the short ribs in the mixture for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  4. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  5. Sear the marinated short ribs in a skillet until browned on all sides.
  6. Transfer to a roasting pan and pour any remaining marinade over the ribs.
