  • 1 head broccoli, cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1/2 cup chicken or beef stock
  • Soy sauce
  • Shaoxing vinegar (or dry sherry)
  • Garlic and ginger
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef against the grain and marinate with soy sauce, peanut oil, and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the sauce by mixing chicken stock, vinegar, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl.
  3. Steam the broccoli in a skillet with water until tender (about 1 minute), then set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat and cook the marinated beef until browned on both sides.
  5. Add minced garlic and ginger, stirring briefly before returning the broccoli to the pan.
  6. Pour in the prepared sauce, stirring until thickened (about 1 minute). Serve immediately.
