  • 2 sheets puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 bar dark or milk chocolate (broken into pieces)
  • 1 egg (for wash)
  • 2 tbsp water (for wash)
  • Optional: 2 tbsp sugar
  • Optional: 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out thawed puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into rectangles.
  3. Place a piece of chocolate at the wide end of each rectangle.
  4. Roll up tightly from the wide end towards the tip and seal edges securely.
  5. Mix egg with water for the wash and brush over each croissant.
  6. Optionally sprinkle sugar on top.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
