  • Pink food coloring, a few drops
  • Blue food coloring, a few drops

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream together softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg along with vanilla extract and almond extract.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Divide dough in half; color one half pink and the other blue. Form small balls by combining both colors.
  6. Place dough balls on the prepared baking sheet; sprinkle with decorations if desired.
  7. Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft. Cool before serving.
