  • 1 box Angel food cake or 1 prepared Angel Food Cake
  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
  • 1 tub (8 ounces) Cool Whip
  • 1 tablespoon almond slivers, toasted

Instructions

  1. Bake the angel food cake according to package instructions; let it cool and cut into cubes.
  2. In a bowl, combine the instant vanilla pudding mix with milk and sour cream; beat until smooth.
  3. Layer half of the cake cubes in a 9×13 baking dish, then top with two-thirds of the cherry pie filling.
  4. Add the remaining cake cubes over the cherry layer.
  5. Spread the prepared pudding mixture evenly over the cake layer.
  6. Top with whipped topping, garnish with remaining cherry filling, and sprinkle toasted almonds on top.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 hours before serving.
