  • 34 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • Optional: lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Hull and chop 6 ounces of strawberries in a bowl. Mash them until crushed.
  2. Mix in sugar and optional lemon zest and juice.
  3. Transfer to a small pot, simmer on medium-low heat for 2-5 minutes until thickened into syrup.
  4. Allow syrup to cool before refrigerating for about an hour.
  5. Hull and finely dice remaining strawberries.
  6. In two glasses, divide cooled strawberry syrup, add diced strawberries, and pour in cold milk. Stir gently and serve immediately.
