  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 cups very hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, and spices.
  3. In another bowl, combine pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract. Mix well and add to the dry ingredients to form a thick batter.
  4. Pour the batter into an 8-inch casserole dish. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar and chopped pecans; sprinkle over the batter.
  5. Carefully pour hot water over the top without stirring.
